Its story took place during the events of The Legend of Zelda, and was supposedly a minor adventure Link had while on his quest to rescue Princess Zelda.The plot of the story was a simple one. Link, assembling equipment before beginning to search the dungeons for the pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom, has trouble with a Moblin who is in possession of a magical spear. Whenever he throws the spear, a new one appears in its hands. Link inadvertently tumbles into the cave of an old man, who sells him a bomb and a new shield. In exchange for a drink of unpolluted water, the old man tells Link that his shield has magical properties. The shield and bomb both enable Link to escape from his adversary and continue his adventures. Some copies of the book came with a listen-along cassette.As in the first two games in the series, the word is spelled as “Molblin” rather than the officially accepted “Moblin.” Contrast this with another officially licensed Nintendo book, The Shadow Prince, which spells it as “Moblin.”
